Learning a language

Learning a language is an exciting journey. You start, throwing yourself in the yet unknown depths of another life. Learning can be challenging, you go through different phases and are motivated for different reasons. To move to another country? To apply for a job? To enhance your career prospects? You may need to maintain or improve a certain language skill or your general level of a language to meet work or study requirements or to pass a language exam such as Cambridge or IELTS. Or, you might want to gain more confidence in another language to get your point across in a business meeting in an international environment.

In your free time you may want to broaden your general knowledge of a language, in order to be able to talk to loved ones or just to connect with others in a new country. Are you motivated out of sheer passion for another language? Or interest in its culture? Out of curiosity trying out a new hobby or learning a new skill to communicate with others?

No matter what reason, learning another language is bound to take you beyond learning how to recognise, write, connect and pronounce new words. It might open doors, change thoughts and change lives.
